Fauci Money Trail Goes Public

(NewsInsights.org) – During the global health crisis, Dr. Anthony Fauci was the public face of the government’s early response. As time went on, he fell under increasing scrutiny for his activities in the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), an agency he led through seven presidential administrations. Now, a nonprofit organization, OpenTheBooks.com, is shining a light on the money the agency made while Fauci was in charge.

OpenTheBooks.com has sued the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in federal court, seeking transparency on the money trails. What it allegedly found is that in 2022 and 2023, there was an influx of cash from healthcare and pharmaceutical companies that far exceeded those received in the prior decade. For example, based on data OpenThe Books.com obtained, the NIH received more than $710 million in third-party royalties. Of that, $690 million went to the NIAID.

To put that into perspective, in the decade prior to 2022, the NIH received less than $5 million in a single two-year period. That’s an increase of more than 175 times. From 2009 to 2021, the NIH received $325 million, nearly $24 million went to the NIAID.

The royalties coming in are mostly from pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. OpenTheBooks.com makes it “clear vaccine developers are licensing patents from the NIH. It is unclear if those patents are related to” pandemic treatments. Changchun BCHT is fifth on the list of the most payments, and China National Biotec Group ranks number 11. These companies made a total of 139 payments to NIAID. Fauci led the agency up until 2022.

Founder Adam Andrzejewski said there are concerns because “China has demonstrated shortcomings both in ethics and safety when it comes to their medical research.” At least two US government agencies have acknowledged that the pandemic likely started in a Chinese lab.

OpenTheBooks.com is continuing to follow the money trail and seek more information to provide to the public.
