(NewsInsights.org) – Facing increasing pressure from Democrats, President Joe Biden recently decided against running for another term. In stepping down, he endorsed his second-in-command, Vice President Kamala Harris. While she seemingly has a ton of support, others are warning what could potentially happen if she wins.
Dave Rubin, a conservative political commentator, said he went looking for videos that show how “bright” Harris is. What he found, instead, was a clip of her from 2022, in which she introduced herself using pronouns. She also described herself in detail as a “woman sitting at the table wearing a blue suit” for the benefit of attendees who were blind. Elon Musk retweeted the video with the caption, “Imagine 4 years of this.”
While Democrats have rallied, for the most part, behind Harris, Republicans are trying to point out that Kamala is even further to the Left than Biden. Former President Donald Trump, the Republican nominee, wasted no time pointing out that she’s “the most incompetent and far left vice president in American history.” At a rally on Wednesday, July 24, he spoke as if he were addressing her directly and told her, “We don’t want you here. We don’t want you anywhere. Kamala. You’re fired,” reiterating a line from his old show “The Apprentice.” She’s also been referred to as a “DEI hire,” with Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) saying she was selected solely based on her race and gender.
Harris still has to secure the delegates necessary to win the nomination, but it’s looking as though she will emerge the victor next month. How that will translate to the ballots is unclear. Currently, her favorability rating is 4.5% lower than Trump’s, but some polls show that she is leading Trump by a margin of 2%, while others show the former president leading by a margin of 1% to 5%. If she’s selected next month, expect a contentious battle all the way up to November.
