(NewsInsights.org) – After a father reportedly victimized his family and several others, two of his daughters made it their mission to bring him to justice. Ana and Yaneiry Albarran diligently worked leads through social media for 16 months and eventually teamed up with the recently rebooted show “America’s Most Wanted” to locate Davie Albarran, 51, for crimes he allegedly committed on girls under the age of 12, including his own granddaughter.
The women said they posted to social media platforms, including TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram, hoping to find information on their father’s whereabouts. However, they claim they received reports from more than two dozen other women who allege Davie Albarran also abused them.
According to Inside Edition, the women’s journey began in earnest after Ana created a video post on TikTok in December 2022. She claimed her father abused her and asked anyone with information about him or who had similar experiences to respond. Within mere days, 21 other women came forward claiming he had also abused them.
Ana talked passionately about the power of victims speaking out and banding together for the common cause of justice. In one video, she told victims to “throw the family away” if they are protecting an abuser instead of the victim. She also told victims that if people choose to sweep abuse “under the rug, burn the rug.” She shamed families who would “protect a man who touches little girls” instead of shielding the victims.
Soon after the February 12, 2024, segment aired on “America’s Most Wanted,” someone contacted Yaneiry Albarran, saying they hadn’t known about the allegations before the program aired and they had been housing him. Polk County Sherriff Grady Judd arrested Davie Albarran at his sister’s home in Lakeland on Sunday, February 18.
Albarran appeared in court on Monday pending a transfer to Orange County. The Judge didn’t set bail because he proved himself a flight risk. The same day, Yaneiry and Ana celebrated their victory of finding and bringing their father into the justice system.
